The Y.B.C. (youth bowlers club) has been formed to enable its members (aged 6 to 18) to improve, enjoy and compete in the sport of Tenpin Bowling in an organised and sportsman like manner.

The league shall have 4 officers elected annually who undertake to manage the affairs of the league in a manner that is unbiased and fair.

League will be sanctioned by the governing body of the sport of Tenpin Bowling. (British Tenpin Bowling Association) All League members and officials will either be members of the B.T.B.A. or members of appropriate affiliated bodies.

For a bowler to participate in the league they must agree to accept and abide by the Constitution of the league. The Constitution is binding on all players of the Y.B.C. and may only be changed in accordance with B.T.B.A. rule 103 The procedure for the resolution of any problem or dispute is as follows: A meeting with league officers, if matter not resolved a meeting of the full league management committee consisting of league officers and team captains (or a representative from each team) present on the day will be convened. The majority decision will then be used. Any decision is subject of appeal to the B.T.B.A.

The league shall bowl on each Saturday morning of the season and shall run handicap format. The Club registration will commence at 10.00am League matches start at 10.45am.

 

PLAYING RULES

The league will adopt the B.T.B.A. playing rules and regulations with the following league rules. Any situation not covered by the league playing rules will be determined by the league officers or a league management committee present on the day.

The league may at the discretion of its officer's increase or decrease the number of cycles for each league season. (minimum 1 cycle) A cycle being the number of matches required for each team to bowl against every other team in the league. The league format may be changed at the discretion of its officers to suit the number of members.

Handicaps will be determined by the league management committee to suit the skill levels of the members.

Late arrivals may start the match from the first frame of the first game provided they are ready to bowl before the completion of the third frame of this first game. After this they must start from the frame in progress. The determination of the frame in progress is from the game on the next pair of lanes to the right. If this is not possible, the pair to the left will be used.

Bowlers must bowl a minimum of 30% of games available to qualify for any individual awards. Trophies will be awarded for finishing in first, second and third places. There will be awards for the season's high game and high series. Other prizes and awards at the league management's discretion.

Team captains are responsible for ensuring that their team observe proper lane etiquette and acceptable behaviour.

Failure to complete the score sheet prior to leaving the centre will result in the loss of any points scored that day. There is no argument nor will any appeal be entertained. Your team are responsible for your part of the scoresheet.

Where scratch and handicap leagues are run the prize fund will be divided equally between handicap and scratch sections and positions will be based on points scored.

The league management committee reserve the right to change the league format to best suit the number of members.
